Sigma sends his legions out to various worlds to place a Unity Engine in order to feed Sigma’s final transformation. The Unified Army follows them to those worlds, taking down Sigma’s troops and engines with the help of those worlds’ heroes, and recruiting them for the final battle against Sigma to save all of reality.
GRADE: B+. Part 10 of the 12-part event spanning the entire Archie Action! line of comics. This issue takes the characters to various worlds of Sega and Capcom games. Many are well-known, others more obscure that only long-time and hardcore gamers will remember or recognize. Outside of recruiting for the Unified Army, not much happens story-wise, but again Ian Flynn seems to effortlessly balance all the characters featured (and there are many) in what amounts to an all-too-brief space for each. Sticks is quickly becoming the Deadpool of the Archie world, with her ability to break the fourth wall, know she’s a work of fiction, and even to simultaneously be on two teams in two different worlds. The artwork by Tyson Hesse, Jim Amash and Matt Herms accurately brings out the Japanese origins of the featured characters, giving them a hint of manga styling and keeping them true to their character models.
