MARVIN KAPLAN DEAD AT 89

Kaplan had starring roles as Choo-Choo in Top Cat, which he later reprised for the weekday series Wake, Rattle & Roll, and as Shellstock "Shelly" Turtle in the Frogger portions of Saturday Supercade. He also guest-starred in episodes of ABC Weekend Specials as Sutcliffe and Mouser, Garfield and Friends as Angel Puss, and Aaahh!!! Real Monsters as Skeech and Sculptor. He also provided additional voices in an episode of The Smurfs.

FYVUSH FINKEL DEAD AT 93

Character actor Fyvush Finkel died on Sunday at the age of 93. You can read the full story here.

Finkel made appearances in episodes of Aaahh!!! Real Monsters as Jackie the Schtickman and Jackie Jarr, and in Rugrats as Shlomo.

BARRY JENNER DEAD AT 75

Perhaps best known for his appearances on various Star Trek programs or his recurring role on Family Matters, his sole Saturday credit was as a traveler in an episode of Aaah!!! Real Monsters. 

DORIS ROBERTS DEAD AT 90

Although probably best known for her 9-year role as Marie Barone on the hit series Everybody Loves Raymond, Roberts did portray another Doris and a Eunice on an episode of Aaahh!!! Real Monsters. She also appeared as Doris on NBC's 1986 Saturday morning preview special Alvin Goes Back to School.

PAT HARRINGTON, JR. DEAD AT 86

While best-known for his live action role of Dwayne Schneider on One Day at a Time, Harrington actually has a respectable Saturday morning pedigree. He played The Atom and Chrystal Man Officer on The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure, and reprised The Atom along with Speedy on Aquaman; the Inspector on The Pink Panther Show and The Pink Panther Laugh and a Half Hour and a Half Show on which he also played Sgt. Deux Deux; Hi-Rise and First Cyclone in Tabitha and Adam and the Clown Family as part of The ABC Saturday Superstar Movie; Moe Howard on The New Scooby-Doo Movies; William Shakesbear on Yo Yogi!; and Shorty McGint, Cop #2, Washington and Boss on Aaaah!!! Real Monsters. He also provided voices for The Addams Family (1973) and Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels.

CHRISTINE CAVANAUGH DEAD AT 51

It was reported that Christine Cavanaugh had died on December 22nd when her obituary ran in the L.A. Times today.

Christine had a long and varied career both on camera and behind the microphone until she retired from acting in 2001. She has the distinction of being a part of the very first show covered here on SMF for her portrayal of Bunnie Rabbot on Sonic the Hedgehog. Additionally on Saturdays, she had starred as the voice of Gosalyn Mallard on Darkwing Duck and an episode of Raw Toonage, Rosebud on Beethoven, Bamm-Bamm Rubble on Cave Kids, Oblina and other roles on Aaaah!!!! Real Monsters, and Wizzer and Dumpling on 101 Dalmations: The Series. She was also Ritchie Raccoon on two episodes from ABC Weekend Specials, Kevin on Bobby's World, Badger Boy on The Spooktacular New Adventures of Casper, Alcides on Hercules, several guest voices on Recess and Tasha on the Weekenders.
