Born and credited as Tara Charendoff until her marriage, Strong became interested in acting at age 4 when she volunteered to perform in a school production. She worked with the Yiddish Theater and Toronto Jewish Theater and was featured in a recording of “Lay Down Your Arms” with the Habonim Youth Choir, singing the song in both English and Hebrew. Her professional debut was at the age of 13 when she starred as Gracie in Limelight Theater’s production of The Music Man. Along with a guest-spot on the show T. and T., she landed her first animated lead role in Hello Kitty’s Furry Tale Theater. By the time she moved to Los Angeles, she had already amassed an impressive resume; a trend that would continue well into her career. Largely, her work has been in animation, but Strong has made frequent on-camera appearances, most recently in 2021 as Tiggy Sullivan on Pretty Hard Cases, as well as done video games, such as playing the protagonist of Lollipop Chainsaw, Juliette. Often, Strong gets called on to play young boy characters like 10-year-old Ben Tennyson in the Ben 10 franchise, Dil Pickles in the Rugrats franchise (excluding the Paramount+ reboot) or Timmy Turner in The Fairly Oddparents.  She inherited the role as the regular voice of DC Comics’ Harley Quinn from Arleen Sorkin (in addition to already playing Batgirl), and became part of the phenomenon that was My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic as lead character Twilight Sparkle. She often uses her fame and social media presence to promote animal rescue groups, raise money for charities, decry bullying and promote Veganism. Throughout her career, she has been nominated for numerous awards including Action on Film International Film Festival, Annie Awards, Behind the Voice Actors Awards, Daytime Emmy Awards, Kids’ Choice Awards, NAVGTR Awards, Online Film & Television Association, Spike Video Game Awards, a Hollywood Gold Award, and an Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Award; winning several of them.

She starred as Mimi Tachikawa, Koromon, Cody Hida, Anna, Palmon, Alice McCoy, Yoshie Matsuki, Jeri Katou, Riley Ohtori, Floramon, Shinya Kanbara, and Koichi and Koji’s mother in Digimon: Digital Monsters; Silvia in Viewtiful Joe; and Sabine Cheng and Ms. Mendeleiev in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir for which she also provided additional voices. She also guest-starred as Francine in an episode of All Grown Up!.

RON GLASS DEAD AT 71

Actor and director Ron Glass has died. You can read the full story here.

Depending on your generation, you either knew him from Barney Miller or Firefly. Glass also made appearances on Saturday morning as Kwanseer in an episode of Disney's Aladdin and as a news anchorman in an episode of Superman: The Animated Series. He also had the recurring role of Randy Carmichael in Rugrats, its related media and spin-off All Grown Up! He also provided the voices for Dr. Lazenby and Tech #2 in the Recess movie School's Out. 

JACK RILEY DEAD AT 80

Although most of his career was spent appearing on live-action programs as a guest or recurring character, Riley began a long voice over stint as patriarch Stu Pickles, as well as the occasional minor character, throughout the Rugrats franchise. He also guest-starred in a 1990 episode of Garfield and Friends as Tyrone.

JOE ALASKEY DEAD AT 63

Alaskey was Warner Bros.' permanent voice for such classic Mel Blanc characters as Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, Sylvester Cat, Tweety Bird and even Marvin the Martian. As such, he played Sylvester and Tweety on The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries and provided Daffy's voice for the opening of The Bugs n' Daffy Show. He was also best known by a generation as the voice of Plucky Duck, his father, the aforementioned WB classics and other minor roles on both Tiny Toons Adventures and The Plucky Duck Show and their related media, as well as the second Grandpa Lou Pickles and other voices on Rugrats, All Grown Up and their related media. 

He was also Sourpuss on Mighty Mouse, the New Adventures, the sheriff in two episodes of Back to the Future: The Animated Series, reprised his role of Stinkie from the Casper movie and played the Gorey Narrator on The Spooktacular New Adventures of Casper, was the short bug and a truck driver on an episode of Men in Black: The Series, a soda and news vendbot on an episode of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, the chief in an episode of Teamo Supremo, and Sylth Vester, the Royal Tweetums, Stoney the Stone and Melvin the Martian on Loonatics Unleashed. 

He also provided voices in episodes of Where's Waldo?, Life With Louie and Timon & Pumbaa.
